There are many places that claim to be the home of Brunswick Stew. In this "History of Brunswick Stew" class we'll explore the earliest recorded recipe from Brunswick County, Virginia to the various versions.
We'll also explore how the recipe evolved as it spread through plantations, taverns, and towns like Williamsburg, where enslaved and free Black cooks adapted it with regional ingredients.
This is an in-person, outdoor class that will be held at Jolly's Mill Pond in Williamsburg, Va.
